When this DIY home renovation creator came to me, she had a strong social media presence but almost no Pinterest strategy.
Her content was perfect for Pinterest—evergreen tutorials, home projects, great advice, but it wasn’t circulating where her ideal audience was actively searching.
She was skeptical about Pinterest. She’d heard stories but wasn’t convinced it would work for her brand, and she wasn’t sure she wanted to invest the time.
Over twelve months, we proved her skepticism wrong.
Her outbound clicks grew from 526 to 2,684 (410% increase), her impressions nearly doubled, and her engagement tripled.
More importantly, Pinterest became a sustainable traffic source that works whether she’s working or not.
Here’s how we built it.

When Pinterest Proves It Works
She had a strong social media presence, sharing DIY tutorials and home renovation projects with an engaged audience.
But as the social media landscape shifted, the visibility she was used to changed along with it.
She wasn’t looking to replace her social media strategy, but she was ready to diversify her marketing with a long-term, intentional approach.
Her content was perfect for Pinterest (evergreen tutorials, practical advice, dream-worthy projects), but it wasn’t reaching the people actively searching for it.
She was skeptical about Pinterest and wasn’t sure she wanted to invest the time.
The reality? She didn’t need more time. She needed a system.
I built a Pinterest strategy for her content, her audience, and her business goals.
Over twelve months, her outbound clicks grew 410%, her engagement tripled, and Pinterest became a reliable traffic source that doesn’t require marketing daily.
But the real transformation wasn’t just the numbers. It was the freedom.
She now has a marketing system that keeps her content circulating and bringing the right people to her business—whether she’s publishing new blogs weekly or taking a month off to focus on other projects.
Pinterest doesn’t stop working just because she does.
That’s evergreen visibility. And it’s exactly why she stayed with me for over a year.
Since her Pinterest account was brand new, we started from the foundation and built strategically for long-term growth.
I spent considerable time researching keywords and interests for her board strategy, then found long-tail keywords to target with her pin content. The goal was to optimize her profile, create boards to attract her ideal audience, and add high-intent keywords to text overlays and pin descriptions. I created a keyword bank to guide ongoing pin creation and blog optimization.
I created branded pin templates for visual consistency, then developed a pinning strategy and system. I created new pins for top-performing blog posts to increase engagement, outbound clicks, and her potential to rank for more keywords. I also repurposed her video content from social media.
I implemented a steady pinning schedule, increasing her pins from 1/day to 5-7/day to keep her content in circulation. I focused mostly on static pins with text overlays, then added repurposed video content from social media.
After 3-6 months (the time it takes Pinterest to learn what the account is about), I analyzed performance patterns: Which content themes performed best? Which pins got the most saves, engagement, and clicks? I adjusted the strategy to create more of what was working. New pins for the same content, targeting the same keywords, or exploring new angles. I also prepared seasonal content at least 90 days in advance.
Traffic Growth: Outbound clicks grew from 526 to 2,684—a 410% increase.
Impressions Growth: Impressions increased from 74,188 to 142,435—a 92% increase.
Engagement Growth: Engagements increased from 2,846 to 9,784—a 244% increase.
Saves Growth: Saves increased from 249 to 913—a 267% increase.
→ Outbound clicks more than quadrupled, showing significant growth in site traffic with potential for further increases.
→ Engagement and saves tripled, proving the content is reaching her ideal audience and resonating.
→ Even during dips in impressions, engagement remained strong—demonstrating content quality over quantity.
→ During months 10-12, traffic and engagement reached account highs, clearly demonstrating the power of growing and stable results as Pinterest continued circulating her older content to new audiences.
This client’s Pinterest growth translated into tangible business results:
Evergreen Traffic System: She now has a traffic source that continues circulating her content, earning performance months after she originally posted the piece.
Higher-Quality Audience: Improved engagement quality indicates a stronger, more intentional, and more aligned audience—which helped her land brand deals and grow affiliate revenue.
Sustainable Growth: She built a system that brings ongoing visibility without dependence on daily posting or social media algorithms.
Freedom from Social Media: Pinterest works whether she’s posting or taking a month off, giving her time back to focus on creating content and running her business.
If you have content worth finding but it’s not reaching the people actively searching for it, let’s talk. Pinterest isn’t about going viral; it’s about being discoverable when it matters.
