Pinterest Marketing Case Study: How a Professional Organizer Grew Blog Traffic and Thought Leadership Using Pinterest

Last Updated: January 19, 2026

A Pinterest marketing case study about how a professional organizer used Pinterest marketing to increase blog traffic and thought leadership content.

When Tara, a professional organizer and mom of three, came to me, her Pinterest account was brand new, and her website/blog traffic was inconsistent.

She wanted a sustainable approach to increase visibility, establish thought leadership, drive affiliate revenue, and build authority.

She was done with social-first marketing and wanted to tap into an evergreen strategy that would get her in front of potential clients while growing her affiliate revenue.

In nine months, a Pinterest-led evergreen system increased her monthly outbound clicks from 11 to 2,726 (with a total of 8,904), and she achieved 600 saves/month, establishing a marketing system that she could maintain.

In this Pinterest marketing case study, I’ll share details about our goals for using Pinterest, how we established a Pinterest strategy to increase website traffic, and how we overcame the challenges that arose.

About Tara M Stewart, Professional Organizer

As a mom of three boys, she knows firsthand the importance of creating organizing systems that work for the whole family, not just one-time picture-perfect setups.

Through her blog, Tara aims to expand her expertise, establish herself as a thought leader, and generate a new revenue stream through affiliate marketing.

Goals for investing in Pinterest Marketing

  1. Drive consistent traffic to her blog using Pinterest.
  2. Position herself as a thought leader in professional organizing.
  3. Increase affiliate revenue through targeted traffic to her blog.

Challenges Before Pinterest Account Management

Before working together, Tara faced several challenges:

  • Inconsistent Traffic: Her blog wasn’t generating the visits needed to boost affiliate revenue or establish her as an expert.
  • Overwhelmed by Pinterest: Without a clear strategy, she struggled to use Pinterest as a tool to drive traffic effectively.
  • Limited Evergreen Systems: Tara needed a sustainable, long-term marketing solution to avoid the time drain of social media.

Tara’s Pinterest account was basically brand new when we began working together.

There was evidence of an attempt to pin her content to Pinterest, but I could see she didn’t understand how to create a strategy to drive the traffic she was looking for.

After Pinterest Account Management

I developed and implemented a comprehensive Pinterest marketing strategy to address Tara’s challenges.

We started right at the beginning since her account was (basically) brand new.

Building a Pinterest for business account is the first step in implementing a strategy to meet growth goals.

Step 1: Keyword Research and Optimization

While researching keywords, trends, and interests may not sound fun, it is one of the most important steps in setting up a successful Pinterest account.

  • Conducted in-depth research to identify high-traffic keywords related to professional organizing, affiliate products, and expert advice.
  • Found trends that worked for her content to take advantage of trending content to help with account growth.
  • Created a keyword and interest banks to refer to for new content (also, why do the research more than once?!).

Step 2: Comprehensive Pinterest Account Build

A good thing to do if you’re going to take Pinterest seriously is to take the time to lay your foundation through an account build.

I spent a couple of weeks getting Tara’s account ready for pinning.

Here’s what I did:

  • Optimized Tara’s profile to reflect her expertise in professional organizing.
  • Created boards with keyword-rich descriptions targeting her ideal website visitor and/or client.
  • Created pin design templates that are on brand to build recognition.

Step 3: Content Strategy

During Pinterest account management, I’m responsible for aligning the OFF-Pinterest content strategy with the ON-Pinterest content strategy.

Here’s what I did:

  • Designed visually appealing pins aligned with her brand to promote blog posts featuring affiliate offers and expert content.
  • Developed a content calendar to ensure consistent pinning and maximize visibility.

Step 4: Consistency Strategy

Once the account was optimized and ready for pinning, I created a consistency strategy that was aggressive enough to sustain growth over time.

A solid Pinterest marketing strategy takes time to grow, with the average growth being 6 to 9 months.

Here’s what I did:

  • Created a pinning schedule averaging at least five fresh new pins daily.

Step 5: Pinterest Analytics and Doing More of What Works

Once pinning has been consistent for about a month, it’s time to check analytics to see what’s working and what isn’t.

As the account grew, I considered content that resonated more than others and pinned top-performing content more often.

Here’s what I did:

  • Monitored performance metrics monthly to identify top-performing content.
  • Adjusted the strategy to focus on high-converting blog posts and affiliate-related content.

Key Pinterest Marketing Achievements

Increased Pinterest Visibility:

  • Optimized pins and boards consistently reached her target audience, significantly boosting engagement and discoverability on Pinterest.

Steady Growth in Traffic:

  • Outbound clicks grew from 11 in Month 1 to a peak of 2,726 in Month 8, totaling 8,904 clicks over nine months.
  • This steady growth became a major driver of traffic to her blog.

Enhanced Affiliate Revenue Potential:

  • Targeted traffic to blog posts featuring affiliate offers increased her revenue stream, demonstrating the ROI of a Pinterest strategy.

High-Performing Content Identified:

  • Analytics tracking revealed top-performing blog posts and pins, allowing her to prioritize and amplify successful content.

Thought Leadership Established

  • I positioned Tara as an authority in professional organizing, reaching a wider audience and actively seeking her expertise.

Sustainable Marketing System Created:

  • Transitioned from relying on social media to an evergreen Pinterest strategy, reducing burnout and ensuring long-term visibility.

Client Testimonial

“As a Professional Home Organizer, I aimed to expand my reach beyond my immediate area by inspiring women to transform their homes into peaceful retreats rather than storage spaces. To achieve this, I started a blog sharing DIY decluttering and home organizing tips. Pinterest emerged as the ideal platform to drive traffic to my website, but my initial attempts yielded minimal clicks due to my lack of expertise in utilizing Pinterest effectively. Juggling my business and three kids left me with no time or interest in mastering Pinterest strategies. Hence, I sought Elanie’s expertise in designing engaging Pins, targeting relevant keywords, and analyzing monthly statistics to enhance my Pinterest performance. Outsourcing Pinterest management was a clear choice for focusing on my core business activities. I’m delighted to witness my Pinterest statistics soar from 23 saves to approximately 600 per month, and outbound clicks surge from single digits to over 2,000 in just eight months. If you aim to concentrate on the aspects of your business that bring you joy and delegate tasks that boost traffic through SEO and relevant keywords to attract your ideal clients, entrusting Elanie with your Pinterest management will do just that.” – Tara M Stewart, Professional Organizer
