I often see business owners forget or keep Pinterest on the back burner because they're either overwhelmed or don't truly understand how powerful it is at growing your business. I have a goal of helping business owners get started on Pinterest in 2023. So here are 5 truth bombs about why you need to prioritize Pinterest going into 2023... 📌1- We all know the need to diversify your marketing is becoming more important. Diversifying your marketing doesn't just mean using another social media platform. It means diversifying the styles of marketing you're doing. (And, please make sure you own one of them, okay?) 📌2 - I know burnout is a trendy term that gets thrown around but have you felt like you can't keep up with content creation? Do you feel like it never ends? That's why it's smart to invest in a platform with a longer shelf life. 📌3 - If you're only worried about growing your social media accounts and not your email list or community then I have to say you're doing it wrong. 💣Truth bomb: Your Pinterest marketing really is 💣Truth bomb: Your Pinterest marketing really isn't about YOU.💣 We recently onboarded a new client who has a very established business and when I took a peek to see what they'd been up to on Pinterest before we took over I saw they were busy doing things that work on Instagram. I'm not gonna lie - I see it ALL the time. And, while I'm happy they hired us, Pinterest is not Instagram. Pinterest users are not there to see what your business or you are up to - they're on the platform to figure out how to enrich their lives. They're planning important events and moments, figuring out how to solve a problem, and finding ideas and inspiration THEY can do in THEIR lives. I had to say it because if you're over on Pinterest right now repurposing your Insta content as is, I'm betting you're falling flat and you don't understand WHY. (Well, if you're reading this you know why now 🤣) Instagram = people want to see behind the scenes, relationship building, you promoting your business. Not gonna lie there are SO many benefits to using Not gonna lie there are SO many benefits to using Pinterest for your business but I know I'm biased. 👩‍💻 So, I thought I'd go over some of my fav reasons to use Pinterest to connect with your ideal person. 📌Pinners are searchers and they're looking to solve their problems or get inspired or plan that important life moment. They're taking to the search bar to find the 'solution' to whatever it is they need. That means it can be YOU who connects with them. You can connect to your ideal person right at the start of their journey and nurture them to take the action you want them to. Powerful💥 📌Since Pinterest relies on keywords, means you can find out a lot about your target audience and their pain points. The biggest advice I have for you here is to pay attention to the user intent behind the keyword - what is the user looking to find on the other side of the search? DM me if you need examples. 📌The thing is when you get lost in the land of keywords, it really helps you see what people are actually looking for, not what you think they're looking for! That means Pinterest helps you with your content marketing strategy. Don't guess what content to create, let the keywords SHOW you.💻 📌Increased brand awareness is always a win - it's also one of my favorite reasons to use Pinterest to market businesses - your business gets discovered right at the start of the journey. 🔥I know Pinterest is one of the BEST marketing 🔥I know Pinterest is one of the BEST marketing tools online today. 🔥 BUT - that's just what it is - a tool to get in front of your ideal clients and customers. If you're just getting started or you're not getting the results you hoped for, I can almost guarantee your strategy is lacking in one of these 3 areas If you don't have these 3 components nailed down, you'll fall flat with your efforts on Pinterest. One literally can't do well without the other. Awesome Content - Pinterest traffic is COLD. They're in discovery mode so you need to make sure your content helps move them in the direction you want them to take. Target Keywords - Keywords make the platform go round. Take the time to do your keyword research and then target those search terms with your content. That's how you build the traffic! (This is the biggest place I see business owners drop the ball. I get it keyword research isn't sexy BUT it is so, so needed). Strong Pin Design - Pinterest is a visual platform so your imagery needs to be on point. Because 4 is my fav number 😂 I ❤ me some Pinterest so let's take a closer look at some of the best reasons to start marketing your business on the platform. 📌Pinterest is a search engine which means people use it to get inspired or solve a problem. Your content can be at the end of those searches! Ranking content has so many benefits - longer shelf life, brand awareness, targeted traffic, this list can go on and on... 📌Speaking of targeted traffic - if you've seen conversations around Pinterest marketing, you will inevitably see experts tell business owners that they can get traffic on auto-pilot. Since you use keywords on Pinterest to get discovered it really does mean that the platform will keep sending you traffic without you having to constantly feed the beast with content. That's what helps you reach the goals you set for Pinterest (ie. email list growth, client consults, etc.). 📌Content has a MUCH longer shelf life on Pinterest. Instead of expiring after a few hours, it's discoverable for months and years after you pin it. 📌Since you're using keywords, you're improving your overall SEO presence. I can't stay quiet about this anymore - if your au I can't stay quiet about this anymore - if your audience is on Pinterest you NEED to start making time for it. ⏰ Those results you see above? That's traffic for ONE month to some of our client's websites.🔥 I get it - Pinterest doesn't have the same luster some other platforms have but let me ask you this - are those same platforms sending you this kind of traffic?! Consistently? On auto-pilot? I'm willing to bet the answer is no. Actually, I know they aren't. Pinterest is the number 1 traffic driver for our clients and, if it's number 2, it's because Google search traffic is first. Why does this matter?
