I started my ETC business because I experienced firsthand how powerful Pinterest can be for growing an online business, blog, shop, brand, you name it. You see, I started dabbling online in 2010 building niche websites (I still do) and using Pinterest to build website traffic. Then in 2016, I had my first daughter so that meant I OBVIOUSLY had to start a mommy blog. You guessed it - I built my blog traffic using Pinterest and got so good at it that I started offering to do it for others in 2018. 5 years later - I’m still helping clients (some since I started!) with their Pinterest strategy and I sold that mommy blog for 5 figures 👏 My goal is to help woman-led online business owners realize there’s more power in building their owned digital assets instead of other platforms. (Don’t worry those other platforms are important; they just shouldn’t be your foundation, okay?) What to expect from me in this space - sharing my expertise in playful, imaginative, and creative ways. I can be a little tongue-in-cheek so if you’re into that stick around. I’m a writer and a storyteller (education is in Journalism - a story for another day) - I don’t gatekeep, love to help people get clarity, and share my wisdom from being in the online business trenches for years. The reality is when you do this, you set up BIGGER problems for later on. (hello thinking Pinterest doesn't work or just giving up) Your pin graphics are an important part of your Pinterest strategy. Here’s the QUICK & DIRTY way to create pin graphics that convert to a click: ✅ Use qualifiers in your text overlay to really drill down on who the pin is for - these are your "hooks" to get the click. ✅ Use a clear call to action - try mixing these up to see what resonates. ✅ Clear, properly aligned fonts for the win - make sure the text is big enough to be read in a feed. Don't take a shortcut with the pin graphics you're creating for your online business. Maybe you are missing one of these foundational things? Using Pinterest for your online business marketing means you need to keep some things in mind. These are not new but it's where I see business owners drop the ball. 1. Pinterest is search and discovery - have you thought about what that means? Your audience doesn't know you yet so create discovery content aka top of the sales funnel content. On Pinterest, it's about the user - they're open to finding your business they just need to know what's in it for them. 2. There is no way around using keywords and user intent. Pinterest is a search engine driven by keywords - they make the world go around over there. 3. You would be amazed how many potential clients don't have a next step once the targeted traffic lands on your website. I am seriously passionate about helping online business owners build their online assets. Things like your email list, product sales, and affiliate revenue. Often there are no plans for the traffic or there is only hope something will stick. That won't be you, right? 4. Repurposing content isn't new and should be done BUT (and I'm saying this for all of my Pinterest manager friends) can you please repurpose with discovery in mind? Pinterest is search and discovery and if you try to skip this step, your efforts will not bring the results you want. ✅ Track your data aka what are your analytics telling you about what's working for your business on Pinterest?
