I'm Elaine
Pinterest strategist. Writer. Investigator. Deeply nosy. Forest dweller. Lover of granny hobbies before they were cool.
I love the mess of human life and think we need to be living more of it, which is exactly why I built a business around marketing that does not require you to be online all the time.
I read multiple books at once, paint badly (working on getting better), talk to my plants, and get lost in the forest regularly. Oliver, my 100-pound golden retriever, comes too.
I’m currently writing a novel because apparently, I don’t believe in easy hobbies.
I’m equal parts data brain and creative soul, and that duality is the reason I ended up building systems for a living.
No, I’m serious, I’m a Pisces sun and a Virgo moon, need I say more?
I need structure to think clearly. I need creativity to make the structure worth anything.
None of this was planned. I didn’t set out to build this business, but we’ll get to that in a minute.
How I Think About Marketing
I'VE NEVER BEEN FASCINATED BY HOW FAST CONTENT SPREADS
I’ve always been more interested in how people find things.
Search made sense to me early on. SEO fascinated me. The idea that you could build something useful, index it correctly, and let it be discovered — without performing, without showing up every day — felt like the only logical way to market anything.
Blogging and long-form content spoke to my writer’s heart.
The two combined?
It feels like a love language.
You cannot get depth from trending or short-form content.
Depth is what makes you human. It’s what people are craving when they find you online.
If someone is taking the time to search for an answer, an idea, or a solution, they’re paying attention in a way that endless scrolling never creates.
Answering their intent is a service.
I’m not here for urgency or visibility for its own sake.
I want marketing that respects time, puts your body of work front and centre, and is built for real life.
Findable is always better than loudest.
That’s not just what I believe.
It’s what nine years of results have shown me, over and over again.

Hey there,
I DIDN'T SET OUT TO BUILD A PINTEREST AGENCY
Honestly, I didn’t set out to build anything in particular.
It was 2009. I’d discovered that the internet could be a place for writing and ideas, and I was learning everything I could, mostly from SEO and tech bros who taught me that content was a game to be won rather than a conversation to be had. Useful. But not quite right.
Life got complicated around that time in the way life does.
I was in a marriage that was slowly trying to make me smaller by someone who didn’t think I should have interests or ambitions outside of him.
The writing itch — the one that had been there my whole life — kept growing louder anyway. Some things cannot be contained.
When that marriage ended, I landed on my feet.
My sibling and I went into business together and built Left Click Marketing — a web design and development agency.
It was a real business and we learned a lot, but eventually I knew it was time to close it and find the path that was actually mine.
That path had always been writing.
So I started a blog. Bought the domain. Got genuinely excited. This was it.
Then I realised nobody knew it existed. Publishing content doesn’t mean people will find it. You can build it, they will not come.
That problem is what changed everything.
Then Pinterest Changed Everything
I DISCOVERED A PLATFORM BUILT DIFFERENTLY
I’d been using Pinterest the way most people do, saving things I liked.
Then I had a lightbulb moment.
Here was a platform that worked differently from everything else online. Pinterest wasn’t a social platform where you compete for attention, it’s a visual search engine.
People came to it looking for answers, ideas, and inspiration.
Long-form ideas didn’t expire, they resurfaced, and circulated. I noticed that content kept finding new people months or years later, and the best part was, you didn’t have to show up to remind the algorithm you existed.
For a writer who values depth, this felt like finally finding the right room.
So I went all in.
I learned everything about Pinterest strategy and search behaviour.
I tested obsessively on my own blog. I refined the process until it was something I could defend and replicate.
I watched my blog grow to over 100,000 monthly sessions and I fell in love with Pinterest strategy.
By 2018 I was caring for my young daughter, my client roster was growing faster than I could manage, and something had to give. The blog I had built from nothing, the one that had proven the entire system, I sold it for 5 figures.
And I never looked back.
Elaine Timms Creative was born from that decision. This wasn’t my typical pivot or plan B, ETC was the thing I’d been building toward without knowing it.
What started as a writer trying to find readers became a business built on helping others be found.
How I Work
MARKETING SHOULD SUPPORT YOUR BUSINESS, NOT CONSUME YOUR LIFE
Before I touch a single pin or search for a single keyword, I audit.
I need to understand what exists before I can build what’s missing. That means looking at the business, the content, the ideal client, and the goals, not just the Pinterest account.
What I find informs everything that follows.
From there, I build a strategy that is specific to your business, your content, and the people you are trying to reach. Nine years of pattern recognition across dozens of niches does its most important work here.
This part is nuanced and deeply individual — which is exactly why it cannot be templated.
Then the pins go out, but here is what most people do not realise about that moment: the first month is not where results happen. The first month is where results are made possible.
The strategy built in month one is what month three traffic grows from.
The pins created in month one are month six’s top performers.
The keyword foundation laid in month one is what keeps the account finding new audiences in month twelve.
Pinterest management is not a monthly task, it’s a growing asset.
I approach every account the way I approach my own business — thoughtfully, intentionally, and with a long-term lens. I pay attention to what’s working, adjust when it is not, and build systems that keep working.
An evergreen approach to marketing requires patience, and I was born with a lot of it.
I will always say being findable is better than being the loudest – I’ve spent nine years proving that.
What I Do Now
PINTEREST IS THE FOCUS BECAUSE IT'S THE BEST SYSTEM FOR MAKING GOOD WORK FINDABLE
I help businesses take the content they’ve already created — blog posts, podcasts, guides, product pages, case studies — and turn it into a search-driven archive that keeps finding new clients, subscribers, and buyers.
This is for you if:
My clients are established business owners who know Pinterest could work for them but do not have the time, energy, or expertise to build it correctly. They want it handled with strategy and care.
A few things about me
EVERYDAY DETAILS THAT INSPIRE MY WORK
The Reading Stack
Currently on my nightstand: a murder mystery because I can’t help myself, an astrology book because self-awareness is a lifelong project, a business book because the data brain never fully clocks out, and a creative writing book because the novel isn’t going to write itself.
No Screen Mornings
This is non-negotiable. I journal, sit quietly with myself, stretch, move gently, and sometimes get some creative writing in before the day starts pulling at me. My mornings are where my best thinking happens, and I protect them accordingly. The rest of the world can wait.
Oliver, the Office Manager
One hundred pounds of golden retriever who takes his job very seriously. Can be heard snoring on calls. Doesn’t seem to care about Pinterest strategy.
The work style
Pisces sun. Virgo moon. Data brain. Creative soul at my core. The structure helps me think and creativity makes everything worth it.
The Novel
Yes, I’m writing one and no it’s not easy. That’s entirely the point. This project is my creative long game.
What I Believe In
The Values Behind My Work
Nine years in this space has made some things very clear to me. These are the convictions I will not compromise on.
